WhatsApp hasn’t had the best of starts to the New Year as the messaging platform is down at the moment. According to various reports, WhatsApp is down in European countries and for some reasons, it seems there is a network connectivity problem and the messaging service isn’t able to cope up with the load.

At the time of filing this story, WhatsApp is down on January 22, 2019, and users are still unable to connect to the messaging app.

WhatsApp is currently broken for Windows Phones, Android and iOS devices. Restarting the app or the device won’t help as the outage is at server-level.

According to reports from users on Twitter, WhatsApp has stopped responding for many in European countries, while it appears to be available in Asia and other regions. If you open WhatsApp, you may receive an error when connecting to the servers.
