Microsoft is rolling out another preview build of Windows 10 October 2018 Update to the Insiders in the Fast Ring. Windows 10 Build 17763 is Insider preview release and it doesn’t come with new features as Microsoft is focusing more on bug fixes.

Microsoft will roll out the new Windows 10 October 2018 Update for the general public in the first half of October and the final build will be released to Insiders later this month.

Windows 10 Build 17763 has fixed an issue with Microsoft Edge where the tabs crashed when users touched a flash element. Another bug where Bluetooth audio devices wouldn’t play sound in apps has been addressed.

What’s fixed in Windows 10 Build 17763

  • This build doesn’t come with the Insider preview build watermark at the lower right-hand corner. According to Microsoft, this means that the Windows 10 version 1809 is in final stages but the company will still continue to release new builds and publish the OS before rolling out to the public.
  • Issues with Microsoft Edge has been addressed.
  • A bug where thumbnails and icons refused to render if the desktop contained video files has been addressed.
  • Issues with Bluetooth audio device has been addressed.
  • A bug that resulted in the increase of battery usage when using certain apps like OneNote has been fixed.
  • Issues with PowerShell has been fixed. It will now display characters correctly in Japanese.
  • Microsoft is also addressing the issues with display scaling factors where the settings didn’t apply correctly.

Just like any other build, this one too comes with its own known issues. First off, the Task Manager could report incorrect CPU usage. There’s yet another issue where the “Background processes” in Task Manager would blink constantly and weirdly.
