Microsoft just outed a new cumulative update for Windows 10 devices. The patch is rolling out via Windows Update and the direct download links for Windows 10 KB4345421 are also available on Microsoft’s website.

Windows 10 KB4345421 is the second such update published this month after the first one landed six days ago on Patch Tuesday. The patch for Windows 10 April 2018 Update bumps the system to Build 17134.166, and unlike the previous patch, this one is focused on non-security fixes.

Most of the changes are however aimed at enterprises and businesses but the performance related improvements are included in this package. It is worth noting that the security updates are typically rolled out on Patch Tuesday and the next batch of security fixes will be released on second Tuesday of July. Microsoft uses Patch Tuesday to address major security vulnerabilities in its products.

  • Addresses an issue with the DHCP Failover server that may cause enterprise clients to receive an invalid configuration when requesting a new IP address. This results in a loss of connectivity.
  • Addresses an issue that may cause the restart of the SQL Server service to fail occasionally with the error, “Tcp port is already in use”.
  • Addresses an issue that occurs when an administrator tries to stop the World Wide Web Publishing Service (W3SVC). The W3SVC remains in a “stopping” state, but cannot fully stop or it cannot be restarted.
