MediaTek may get one of its biggest client. According to a report in Digitimes, the Taiwan-based company may bag a deal from Cupertino-based smartphone giant Apple. The iPhone maker is said to be considering one of Mediatek component, 5G modem chips to be precise, for its future iPhone. The company's move is said to be aimed at reducing its dependence on US-based chip processor giant Qualcomm, given both are tied in a legal battle over patents. The iPhone maker however is yet to take a final decision on this as both have to agree on the future product roadmap, technology developments and more.
