Imaging and optical products manufacturer Canon has launched its 254th Canon Image Square in the country in Mumbai in the Khar area. The outlet was inaugurated by Mr Eddie Udagawa, Vice President of Consumer Imaging and Information Centre, Canon India. The inauguration by Mr Eddie Udagawa The 3.0 outlets have been designed as experiential stores where potential customers can walk in and try their hand at Canon's product portfolio. This means that a customer can try any of Canon's cameras, even the latest models like the Canon EOS M50, lenses, accessories, printers and more at these stores. "Further expansion of our regional outreach in the country, we are delighted to announce the launch of our Gen Z version of Canon Image square store in Mumbai. With Mumbai being a hub for photography and film enthusiasts, we aim to further nurture the imaging culture prevalent in the city. Our CIS stores are experiential imaging destinations dedicated to providing an engaging, interactive and informative experience; a testament to our commitment to bring forth innovation and customer delight" says Mr Eddie Udagawa "With the launch today, we now have 14 CIS stores in Mumbai and 31 stores in Maharashtra. Having established our presence with 254 stores currently in 122 cities, our endeavour is to further amplify our retail footprint across the country." Another interesting aspect of the 3.0 stores is the imaging solutions available. While this particular outlet did not have it at the time, the hdAlbum EZ offering from Canon lets people bring their own photos, design their albums on a professional software and then have it printed on a Dreamlabo 5000, Canon’s production inkjet product. Currently, there are 20 stores across the country with this facility but as and when demand rises, it will be rolled out to more outlets. Canon also plans to conduct workshops from CIS stores. These workshops will be conducted for beginners as well as advanced specialisations like wedding photography, outdoor photography and even dental photography. These workshops will be publicised through customers who come into the stores as well as Canon Edge, their online community portal. With these workshops and experiential stores, Canon aims to expand its existing photography community to include a larger portion of this country’s 1.3 billion people.
